Airy3D is a computer vision company based out of Montreal. It recently raised $10M in series A. The company is developing DepthIQ, a technology which fuses 2D images to create depth data for the scenes. The advantage of this technology is that it doesn’t require more expensive specialized hardware to generate the depth map. DepthIQ will be particularly useful for face recognition as well as gesture and object detection. It will be applicable for fields ranging from mobile devices to drones, robotics and even autonomous cars.
