Amazon is venturing into the screws and other small parts’ market. In a recent release of its iPhone app, Amazon enabled a computer vision feature to identify such parts. The “Part Finder” feature uses the phone’s camera to snap a photo of the part. It then allows the user to make selections such as head or driver type. Finally, the user can buy the part through the app and get it delivered. This is another win for Amazon in its battle against the brick-and-mortar retail stores.
